Second EG LNG Safety Fair

Because life matters, on Friday August 5th, EG LNG hosted the 2nd Annual Safety Fair aimed at local construction companies that work in our Community and Social Projects. This year, over 40 people attended the event and the focus was to raise on the job safety awareness through a series of interactive workshops. Similar to the previous year, local companies that provide safety apparel and services collaborated with EG LNG and the event was a huge success.

EG LNG Achieves Milestone 500th Cargo

On June 4, 2016, EG LNG successfully loaded its 500th cargo, the 170,000m3 (1,069,000 bbls) SCF Melampus, sailing for Aqaba, Jordan.

The LNG plant loads approximately one cargo every six days, ranging in sizes up to 173,000m3, with all cargoes purchased by a single off taker. Marathon Oil’s Alba field supplies feed gas for the plant and LNG production averages approximately 24,000m3/day (151,000 bpd) of liquefied natural gas. Since start-up, the plant has produced more than 33 million tons of LNG, or over 1.6 tcf of gas, predominantly supplying markets in the Far East.

The facility loaded its first cargo on May 24, 2007, and nine years and 500 cargoes later, EG LNG continues to set the standard in safety and reliability.  The 500th cargo milestone has been possible through the collective efforts of every employee, contractor and partner who has been part of this success.  EG LNG continues to demonstrate its commitment to operating a safe and reliable plant, which is considered to be a world class production facility.

EG LNG Celebrates 3 Million Safe Work Hours

Employees and contractors of EG LNG recently celebrated the significant safety milestone of three (3) million exposure hours without a recordable injury, which was achieved on December 14, 2015. This is the first time since the plant began operations in 2007 that this milestone has been achieved. The 3 million exposure hours represents more than 3½ years of work without a recordable injury. To celebrate, a luncheon was held for all employees and contractors. The luncheon was kicked off with congratulatory comments from Patricia Gallego, the EG LNG Managing Director, and EG LNG’s HES&S Manager. This achievement illustrates the commitment of EG LNG employees and contractors in personal safety, as well as the safety of their co-workers and the safe operation of the LNG plant.
